Meet the Team,

Meet Bethany,

Bethany Stricker is a Certified Professional Midwife and a Licensed Midwife in Texas. Her goal is to bring personal, safe, holistic care to the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

Many women go through the birthing process without a full understanding of what their care providers are recommending for their bodies and their babies. Because of this, she values ensuring families understand the benefits and risks of their options through:

  • informed consent

  • educating the families she serves

  • shared decision making between herself and the mother

Bethany is passionate about helping families have natural, physiological pregnancies and births where women feel empowered and loved. Through her extensive continuing education, she incorporates homeopathy, botanical medicine, dynamic body balancing, and craniosacral therapy into her practice to help her clients remain healthy and on track for their best birth.

Meet Her Team

Becky Thorp, LM, CPM

Becky is from Sun Valley, Idaho. Being born at home herself, midwifery was a familiar subject in her family. Becky has always had a love for babies and a heart for serving women and families. She is a licensed midwife in Texas, a Certified Professional midwife (certified by the North American Registry of Midwives, and a certified doula and childbirth educator (certified through Charis Childbirth). After graduating from high school in 2009, Becky completed the Ecola Bible School one year program in Cannon Beach, Oregon. In 2012, she attended the birth of her nephew and knew then, that midwifery was her calling. She enrolled in Charis Childbirth midwifery program 2014 and began attending births as a doula for friends and family. In March of 2016, she moved to Grand Prairie, Texas and began her clinical apprenticeship at FBS. Becky married her husband Nate, finished her training and academics, and became licensed in 2018. Becky's style is marked by conscientious focus and putting a priority on clients' emotional and physical well-being. She believes in evidence based care and true informed consent to empower families for shared decision making. Her love for children often comes out in the way she interacts with and includes the siblings of the new baby in their mother's prenatal and postpartum visits.  As a certified childbirth educator, she also enjoys teaching childbirth classes and educating women and their families.  Becky currently lives in East Fort Worth with her husband Nate and two sons Elliot and Andrew. When not doing birth work, she enjoys hiking, camping, snowboarding, and rock climbing, as well as making pottery, cooking, reading, and being involved in her church.

Inna Matveyuk

Inna is a student midwife with the BioBirth Midwifery Academy and serves as a birth assistant with North Texas Midwifery. Her dream is to become a professional, holistic midwife with her primary goal being to use her skills and knowledge to serve the Lord by helping women in the most vulnerable time of their life.

She started her journey in the birth world as a birth photographer and later became certified as a doula. She is now on the path to gain knowledge and skills to care for women throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period.

Inna believes that motherhood is the biggest blessing from our Creator and that how babies come into the world matters. Inna has five of her own children, with four being born into the hands of midwives. The personal and supportive care she experienced with midwives was life changing.

Since knowledge is power, Inna is putting a big emphasis on educating her clients about expectations, nutritional values, staying active and positive on their journey to motherhood.

Her biggest desires are:

  • to help women feel empowered throughout their pregnancy and birth by providing amazing care, support and informed decisions.

  • To make an impact on the maternal health system, one birth at a time!

  • To support women and be by their side for any needs, concerns or questions.

Kiesha Baker, LM, CPM

Kiesha is a supporting midwife and birth assistant at North Texas Midwifery. Kiesha’s journey supporting families and babies began with an undergraduate degree in psychology with a focus in early childhood development from California Baptist University. After a less than empowering hospital birth, Kiesha became interested in supporting families as a professional doula. Kiesha’s experience as a doula allows her to feel comfortable in any setting, no matter the circumstance. She also feels her hospital experience allowed her to see more high-risk situations and gave her broader experience in handling complications.

Kiesha is both a Certified Professional Midwife and Licensed Midwife and values:

  • informed consent through extensive education

  • empowering women to take care of themselves so they can live their best life

  • incorporating the spiritual aspects of women’s lives into birth work

When Kiesha is not catching babies, she spends time with her family, including three children, homesteading, and researching her latest homesteading project.
